Salvadorean Liga MB round 26 best performance: Freddy Asprilla

American-Colombian Center Freddy Asprilla (206-C-1988) had an amazing evening in the last round for Santiagueno, receiving a Hoops Agents Liga MB Player of the Week award for round 26.
The 33-year old player had a double-double of 28 points and 41 rebounds, while his team outclassed Santa Ana (#8, 5-15) with 43-point margin 110-67. Santiagueno maintains the 7th position in Salvadorean Liga MB. Santiagueno is rather a weak team placed in lower part in the standings. They need more victories to improve their 8-12 record. Asprilla just recently signed at Santiagueno, being already a very valuable addition to the team. Former Canisius College star has very solid stats this year. Asprilla leads league in rebounds with 22.1rpg. Asprilla is in league's top in and averages impressive 50.7% FGP.

The second best player in last round's games was young American Marcus Faison (196-SG-1994) of Nejapa. Faison had a very good evening with a double-double of 37 points and 22 rebounds. Bad luck as Nejapa lost that game 88-101 to the higher-ranked Aguila (#4, 15-5). This loss caused Nejapa to slide to the very bottom (11) position in the standings. 16 lost games are too many comparing to just four victories Nejapa managed to get this year. Faison is one of the most experienced players at Nejapa and has a reputation of one of team's most reliable players. He belongs to the best scorers in the league with 24.4ppg (#9). His other stats are also decent: 18.4rpg and 3.7apg.

Third on the list of top players last round was Cuban forward Yoel Cubillas (204-F-1994) of Metapan (#3). Cubillas scored 26 points and grabbed seventeen rebounds (!!!). He was a key player of Metapan, leading his team to a 102-73 easy win against the lower-ranked Cojute (#10, 4-16). Metapan is closer and closer to top of the standings. They will still need more victories. But 16-4 record is not that bad... Cubillas has a great season in El Salvador. After 20 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in rebounds with 16.2rpg (4th best). He also has 2.3bpg and FGP: 67.4%.
